Every Etchfy product is made to order and personalised by you — a name, a date, a message, or your own design, engraved clean and permanent from our Yorkshire studio.
Most of our products are bought as gifts — for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, new homes, and occasions where something generic won't do. Whether it's a name, a date, a message, or a logo, personalisation is the whole point. It's what makes a piece worth keeping.

How do I personalise my engraved gift?
Enter your text — names, dates, messages — in the personalisation box on the product page before adding to your basket. Each listing has instructions on character limits and what's possible for that product.
What can be engraved?
Names, dates, short messages, initials, symbols, and custom artwork can all be engraved depending on the product. Character limits and artwork requirements are shown on each listing.
Is there a character limit?
Yes — each product has a maximum number of characters to ensure the engraving stays clear and legible. The limit is always shown on the product page before you order.
Can I see a preview before ordering?
Some products include a preview tool. If yours doesn't, our engravers will lay out the text for the best visual result. For business and custom orders, a digital proof is provided before production begins.
Can I choose the font?
Where font options are available, they'll be shown on the product page. If no option is listed, we use a standard font chosen for the best clarity on that material.
How long does personalised engraving take?
Items are typically engraved within [X–Y working days] before dispatch. The full estimated delivery time — including production — is shown at checkout.
Can I get a personalised gift urgently?
Yes. Express options are available on most products at checkout. If you have a very tight deadline, contact us before ordering and we'll confirm what's achievable.
Will personalisation delay my delivery?
No — production time is always included in the estimated delivery date shown at checkout. What you see is what you'll get.
Can I return a personalised item?
Personalised items are made to order and can't be returned for a change of mind. If an item arrives faulty or different to what was agreed, we'll put it right. See our full returns policy.
Can I change my engraving after ordering?
Contact us as soon as possible. If your order hasn't entered production yet, we'll amend it free of charge. Once engraving has started, changes may not be possible.
What if I make a spelling mistake?
Engraving is copied exactly as entered, so please double-check everything before submitting. If you spot a mistake immediately after ordering, contact us straight away and we'll try to catch it before production starts
Is engraving permanent?
Yes. Laser engraving is permanent — it won't fade, rub off, or deteriorate over time. That's one of the reasons it makes such a worthwhile gift.
Will the finished item look exactly like the photos?
Product photos are accurate representations, but since every piece is made individually, slight natural variation can occur. This is part of what makes each piece unique rather than mass-produced.
